Shania Twain is joining the cast of ABC's Beauty and the Beast 30th Anniversary Special to play the part of Mrs. Potts. She shared the big news on social media on Monday (October 17th) writing in part, “I am unbelievably honoured… and excited… and all of the emotions(!!) . . . and of course, I would be remiss if I didn't pay tribute to the iconic Angela Lansbury, I mean she IS Mrs. Potts and the reason why this character is so beloved. To follow in the foot steps of such an icon is a huge honour and I hope to do the part justice.”
Other new additions to the case include Martin Short as Lumiere, David Allen Grier as Cogsworth and Rizwan Manji as LeFou. Jon Jon Briones will appear as Maurice, Belle's father, and Leo Abuelo Perry will play Chip, Mrs. Pott's son.
ABC's Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration will be taped in front of a live audience at Disney Studios and will air on Thursday, December 15th at 8 p.m. ET.
